Las Vegas Plays Host To Month-Long Halloween Festivities


For those looking to fully embrace the Halloween spirit, look no further than Las Vegas. Throughout the month of October, plenty of events, parties, and contests will be going on throughout the city. Here’s a roundup of everything going on.

Haunted Houses and Transformations

The LINQ will be hosting a Zombie Escape, open select nights through October 31, which turns its promenade into the scene from a zombie apocalypse. The promenade will host a Halloween celebration party October 27-29 with décor, live music, zombies, drumline, and costume contest. The High Roller Observation Wheel will cast a glow over the entire spectacle, lit in Halloween colors.  

Jean Philippe Pâtisserie at Bellagio and ARIA Resort & Casino will display 45 festive showpieces, made from cake, chocolate, and other edibles. The displays include a 200-pound, six-foot-tall zombie, a showgirl zombie, and more.

Fright Dome at The Adventure Dome at Circus Circus returns for its 14th year, bringing a twisted, terrifying interactive experience to visitors. Circus Circus will also offer six haunted mazes, scare zones, and showings of "Friday the 13th" in the F/X 4-D Theater and motion-based "Panic House" in the Extreme Ride Theater, available select nights through October 31.

Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. at Treasure Island Las VegasCosBash 2016 will host a costume contest, with best dressed winning prizes, including a chance to meet comic legend Stan Lee.

The Freakling Bros. Horror Shows’ haunted houses, located west of the Strip near the Grand Flamingo Center, are titled “Coven of 13,” “Castle Vampire,” “Gates of Hell,” and “Freak Pass."

Asylum & Hotel Fear at Meadows Mall takes patrons through a terrifying series of hospital rooms. Both are open throughout the month of October.

Fremont Street Experience’s OktoberFrightFest combines Oktoberfest and Halloween. Seasonally inspired music and light shows will be running throughout the month, while selections from 30 breweries will be available on October 9-10 for the Fall Beer Festival at Golden Nugget.

Halloweekend at Downtown Container Park, from October 28-31, offers pumpkin decorating, scary stories, live bands, costume contests, and screening of classic Halloween movies.

Sin City Halloween will also be taking place in Downtown Las Vegas at the Fremont East Entertainment District from October 28-29. Weekend events include a costume party, car show, parade, parties and more. Special guests, including actors George P. Wilbur and James Winburn, and Chuck Klenus and Bryan Williamson from the Nevada Paranormal Task Force, will be attending the event for a unique Q&A.

Opportunity Village, a Las Vegas non-profit that serves children and adults with intellectual disabilities through vocational training, community employment, day services, advocacy, arts, and social recreation, will transform the Magical Forest into HallOVeen, which includes The Haunted Adventure, Cheyenne’s Enchanted Carousel, Forest Express Ghost Train, Rod’s Monstrous Mini-Golf, scary movies, and snacks. Open October 14-31, the proceeds benefit more than 3,000 people in the community with intellectual disabilities. 

Shopping area Town Square will become Town SCARY on the evening of October 31 with costume contests, the Undead Maze, carnival rides and other treats.   

At Springs Preserve’s Haunted Harvest, the creatures of the night will come out to play in the haunted maze, carnival games, live entertainment, and more. Haunted Harvest is open weekends in October.

Concerts and Shows

The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s annual Fetish & Fantasy Halloween Ball on October 29 will enchant revelers, while Vanity Nightclub party-goers will relive the 1980s during the Everything 80s Party on the 28th.

The nightclubs at Wynn and Encore will be home to: “Wynnderland,” a twist on “Alice in Wonderland,” with Alesso, Skrillex, and Diplo performing, on October 28, 29, and 31, respectively; and Surrender thrills with a surprise special guest, RI Grime, Dillon Francis, and Marshmello, October 28, 29, and 31.

DJ Eric Dlux kicks off Halloween weekend at TAO Nightclub at The Venetian with a costume contest, with the winner taking home $5,000. The party continues with French Montana performing his top hits October 28-29. LAVO Las Vegas at The Venetian will host a heaven-and-hell-themed party brunch with guests enjoying the indulgent brunch items, champagne, and DJ with a Halloween twist. 

The weekend lineup at Drai’s Nightclub at The Cromwell kicks off with Fetty Wrap featuring Monty, Future, 50 Cent with DJ Franzen, and ends with T.I., October 28-31.

OMNIA at Caesars Palace continues the Halloween spirit with Calvin Harris and Martin Garrix, October 28-29. Hakkasan at MGM Grand Las Vegas will host Kim Kardashian West, Tiësto with Dzeko & Torres, and Calvin Harris with Generik, October 28-30. JEWEL Nightclub at ARIA Resort & Casino celebrates the eerie holiday with Steve Aoki and Puff Daddy, October 28-31.

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas’ DJ lineup at Marquee Nightclub for the Vegas Horror Story: FreaQfest celebration includes Cash Cash, Carnage, and Galantis, October 28-31. Also at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Marquee Dayclub Dome will kick off the season Halloween weekend with Eric Prydz and DJ Vice, October 29-30.

Paranormal Explorations

The annual Sea Monsters Revealed at Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino turns the world’s largest exhibition of sea creatures into an eerie display. Using plastination, guests will be able to see the insides of ocean inhabitants including an 18-foot, 3,000-pound whale shark, 15-foot-long mako shark, and giant sunfish, and 18 other creatures. The exhibit is open until October 31.     

Guests can take in Las Vegas’ most active paranormal sites after dusk on the Haunted Vegas Ghost Hunt. Using ghost-hunting equipment, the tour visits five locations known for their popularity among spirits from the other side, sinister and not.

The Goodsprings Ghost Hunt, located at an abandoned mine, transports curious travelers to the former city where deceased miners and murder victims tell their gruesome stories.
