Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort (LVSSR) launches a series of family-friendly events for the summer 2012 season, including the LVSSR Annual Hill Clean Up, a litter pick-up and barbecue, Music on the Mountain: Music Americana, a summer concert series, along with ongoing weekend activities including disc golf and scenic chairlift rides.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Annual Hill Clean Up
On Saturday, June 23 from 9:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m., volunteers take to the mountain for the area’s annual post-season litter pick-up event. The day includes scenic chairlift rides and a chance to win prizes, including a 2012/13 season pass that will be hidden on the mountain. Following the litter pick-up, volunteers will enjoy a complimentary barbecue lunch and beverages.
Participants are advised to wear hiking attire and be prepared for a day in the outdoors by bringing sunscreen, a hat, and proper eyewear and footwear. LVSSR will be providing volunteers with trash bags, gloves and water. No RSVP is required.
Music on the Mountain: Music Americana
The popular summer music series is back and kicks off on Saturday, June 30 with “Music Americana Volume 1” from 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. One Saturday per month during the summer season, Music on the Mountain: Music Americana will feature a variety of music such as blues, blue grass, classic rock, country, folk, jazz, reggae, and rock & roll. The lineup of bands for June 30 includes:
• “Rick Estrin & The Nightcats”
• “John Earl’s Boogieman Band”
• “Moaning Black Snakes”
• Las Vegas’ own “Tommy Rocker Band”
Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children under 12; they can be purchased the day of the event at LVSSR. A special discounted package rate of $50 for all 4 concerts will be available for purchase online after June 1. Gates open at 10:30 a.m.; guests can bring chairs, blankets, and umbrellas for the festival-style seating. Free parking is available and guests can ride the complimentary shuttle from the parking lot. A limited food and beverage menu will be available. Pets, coolers, and outside food or beverage will not be permitted.
Upcoming dates for the series includes: July 28, August 18 and September 8. The line-up of entertainment for those dates will be announced in the weeks ahead at www.skilasvegas.com.
SUMMER WEEKEND ACTIVITIES
Summer weekend activities are Friday through Sunday, starting Friday, June 29 through Sunday, September 9. A limited food and beverage menu is also available for guests. Please note that LVSSR is open only Friday through Sunday during the summer season, services will not be offered Monday through Thursdays with the exception of July 4-8.
Disk Golf
A challenging 18-hole alpine course that starts at an elevation of 9,100 feet, LVSSR’s summer disk golf is $10 for the chairlift ride or guests can buy a season pass for $50 per person that includes chairlift rides.

• Friday: Noon-5:00p.m.
• Saturday-Sunday: 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Scenic Chairlift Rides
Cost:
• $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-12, free for children under 5.
• 2012/13 season pass holders also ride for free, excluding event days.

• Saturday-Sunday: 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
