“Romantic-pop” vocalist Howard Hewett will be serenading his audience at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino on May 10. During the mid-eighties, Howard's career soared with the release of his fist single, "I'm For Real," eventually hitting number one. A series of hits followed including songs like "Stay," "I Commit to Love," and "Once, Twice, Three Times". He has recorded duets with vocalists including Anita Baker, Dionne Warwick, Brenda Russell and Stacy Lattisaw. During Howard’s special Mother’s Day performance, he will be singing a collection of his favorite songs alongside Vince Preister playing saxophone. A buffet dinner, champagne, and roses are all included with the evening. General admission is $89 per person, and the event will take place from 3 - 7 pm.

The 36th Annual San Gennaro Feast

The San Gennaro Feast is the largest Italian food and music festival honoring Saint Gennaro, the Patron Saint of Naples. The event is held in Las Vegas bi-annually, and offers more than just food and live entertainment. Visitors can participate in arts and crafts workshops, view home exhibits, enjoy pony rides and a petting zoo, face painting, live international acts and amusement rides and games. The festival will also have a beer and wine garden. The feast will be held in Little Italy Las Vegas from May 6 – 10.

Winter Dance Party

Rock and roll history buffs should check out the Winter Dance Party, a tribute to 1950’s music legends Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper. The concert will re-create the iconic group’s final tour with a two hour live performance. From May 8 - 10 each evening the performance will showcase hit songs, including “La Bamba", “That’ll Be The Day”, "Peggy Sue" and "Oh, Boy." The tribute will take place at the South Point Hotel Casino & Spa in the South Point Showroom. The show begins at 7:30, and ticket prices start at $20.

Rock in Rio

For travelers who are looking for an event that is a bit on the “wild side” this Mother’s Day, there’s Rock in Rio USA, the world’s biggest music festival. This is the first time that the internationally acclaimed festival is coming to the United States, with the first acts hitting the stage at the MGM Resorts Festival Grounds in Las Vegas for “Rock Weekend” on May 8 and 9. The weekend’s lineup will feature artists including No Doubt, Linkin Park, Metallica, Coheed and Cambria and Deftones. Visitors on longer stays in Vegas can also check out “Pop Weekend” on May 15 and 16 to see artists like Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and John Legend.
