Big Island

It may be humpback whale season from December to April, but at Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa, it is Manta Ray season all year long. Guests can watch the amazing creatures from a special viewing area at the resort as the manta ray gather most evenings along the shoreline to feed. Visitors seeking a closer view may board the Hula Kai boat at nearby Keauhou Bay for a nighttime manta snorkel or scuba dive. James Wing, a well-known manta expert, is aboard the Hula Kai to offer up information on manta behavior and studies. Wing also organizes complimentary "manta talk story" evenings for guests of Sheraton Keauhou Bay who want to know more but prefer staying on the dry side.
