Liverpool Continues to Develop

Corinthia Hotels International says it will open the RamadaPlaza Liverpool in England in 2010. The property, which will serve as the centerpiece of The Quarter, a mixed-use development on the emerging hotel strip along Liverpool’s waterfront, which will also be adjacent to the city’s new Arena and Convention Center, will be aimed at corporate and high-end leisure travelers.

Corinthia’s alliance with Wyndham Hotel Group allows it to serve as the hotel management company for the hotel giant for properties in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, operating under the Corinthia, Ramada Plaza and Wyndham brands. Corinthia has already used this relationship to introduce all three brands in new destinations, with a Corinthia Hotel property in Romania, a Wyndham hotel in Morocco, a Ramada Hotel and Suites in Dubai and four Ramada Plaza hotels in The Czech Republic, Hungary, Tunisia and now the United Kingdom.

Liverpool, also known as the Beatles’ hometown, is the new site of the Hard Days Night Hotel (www.harddaysnighthotel.com), where each of the 110 rooms tells a different part of the Beatles’ story. The city is also celebrating its appointment as the 2008 European Capital of Culture. For more information, visit www.travelagentcentral.com/liverpool.
