A name to remember when in London: 51 Buckingham Gate (Taj Hotels’ luxe London outpost) has promoted Araceli Rius Perez to hotel manager. Araceli has been with Taj Hotels for more than 16 years. She first worked for the adjacent Crowne Plaza before joining 51 Buckingham Gate as a receptionist in 2001, the year of the hotel’s opening. Araceli recently led the sales team at 51, servicing its domestic and international clients.
The appointment is also significant as Perez is the company's first-ever female hotel manager.
As part of her new role, Araceli will oversee the various operational divisions within the hotel, as well as being the first point of contact for 51 Buckingham Gate’s exclusive clientele. She will also manage the hotel’s additional refurbishment plans pipelined for the next few years, including extensive suite renovations and the installation of a new elevator.
