Moxy Hotels, Marriott International’s Millennial-friendly boutique hotel brand, has opened its third property in Germany with the debut of the Moxy Berlin. The move follows the rollout of Moxy Frankfurt Eschborn and Moxy Munich Airport.
Centrally located in the Ostbahnhof cultural center, the 210-room hotel is within walking distance of Berlin's coolest bars, independent shops and late-19th-century architecture. Guests can also take advantage of trams and buses at nearby transit hubs.
The hotel’s communal spaces, including its Living Room, aim to cater to travelers and locals looking to meet new friends. To kick things off, a bartender greets guests with a complimentary cocktail upon arrival. In the lobby, modern furniture and a library of books offer a chance to relax, while the pink Moxy punching bags in the hotel gym offer a chance to reenergize. The selfie-friendly hotel elevators are designed like photo booths, complete with props. The Living Room also has power and USB outlets, complimentary Wi-Fi, cocktails and upbeat music.
Guest rooms, which range from Standard to Family size, have sound-reducing walls, 42" LCD flat screen televisions, free Wi-Fi and multiple USB ports. Additionally, every bedroom has a floor to ceiling art piece. Bathrooms have complimentary Muk toiletries, bright pink hair dryers, power showers and large mirrors alongside a spacious vanity area.
For dining, the 24/7 B&F concept offers grab-and-go options like fresh juices, a coffee bar, panini sandwiches, local dishes like Spätzle and Sauerbraten and a range of healthy alternatives from salad to antipasti. An evening Crockpot entrée will be served along with a variety of cocktails, craft beers and specialty wines. The bar is full-service and the hub of activity in the lobby – it also doubles as the hotel's physical check in.
Also at the hotel, emerging artists from around the world are invited to participate in the brand's #BlankCanvas global initiative and submit works, ranging from live performance art to a permanent installation, for the chance to be featured as part of the property’s art collection. The winning artists will be invited to create live art during the Moxy Berlin's grand opening party.
