Maui's Lahaina Inn Gets New Management

Hawaiian Hotels & Resorts (HH&R), which owns and operates the Royal Lahaina Resort and Royal Kona Resort, began management of the historic Lahaina Inn on Maui yesterday.

The recently refurbished property is near Lahaina’s Front Street, and visitors are within easy walking distance of the town’s many art galleries, restaurants, lounges, and shops.

In making the announcement, Gary Hogan, HH&R president, said, “This is a wonderful partnership between [the] full-service Royal Lahaina Resort on Kaanapali Beach and the quaint, historic Lahaina Inn, which is owned by celebrated Lahaina Grill owner Jurg Munch.”

Guests at the Lahaina Inn now have access to the many amenities at the full-service Royal Lahaina Resort on Kaanapali Beach, including swimming pools, beach and water activities, restaurants and lounges, tennis, and nearby golf. Scheduled shuttle service to the Royal Lahaina Resort will be available during the day to those staying at the Inn.

The original, two-story structure that now houses the Lahaina Inn was built in 1938 as a general merchandise store. Early in 1960, hotel rooms were added to the building’s second floor. In the late 1990s, the property was totally restored over a two-year period, incorporating authentic antique furnishings, turn-of-the-century décor, and modern amenities.
