Maxim Bungalows to Raise Money for Dominican Republic

Maxim Bungalows will sponsor an event in New York City on Sunday, November 25, "A Night of Emergency Relief for the Dominican Republic." When Hurricane Noel struck the Dominican Republic earlier this month, it displaced at least 61,000 residents and caused major flooding, landslides and the destruction of several bridges. All funds raised will go directly to the victims through Sur Futuro, a not-for-profit organization that works to promote economic development and social responsibility in the Dominican Republic.

The fundraiser will take place at SOB's, at 204 Varick Street in Manhattan, and will feature cast members from a number of Broadway shows, including "Wicked," "Mary Poppins," "The Color Purple," "Xanadu" and "The Little Mermaid." Among the items available in a raffle/auction at the event is a stay at the Maxim Bungalows in the Dominican Republic. Tickets cost $50 and are available through Ticketmaster or the SOB's box office or web site, www.sobs.com. (JP)
