Meliá Hotels International Announces Expansion to Myanmar

myanmarMeliá Hotels International has announced the addition of its newest resort in South East Asia, the Meliá Yangon Myanmar

The hotel, which will be built next to the former capital’s Inya Lake, will include 400 guestrooms, a spa, meeting rooms and facilities and gourmet restaurants. The project will be designed by Vietnamese real estate company Hoang Anh Gia Lai Myanmar (HAGL). The new hotel will join 23 other Meliá hotels in the South East Asia region. It is expected to open in 2016. 

With over 370 Meliá Hotels over the world, the Spanish hotel group’s expansion into Myanmar will open new international markets for travelers. The company’s variety of brands, Gran Meliá, Meliá Hotels & Resorts, Paradisus Resorts, ME by Meliá, INNSIDE by Meliá, Trype by Wyndham and Sol Hoteles have presence on four continents and in 40 countries around the globe.
