The Mexico Tourism Board, the executive agency of Mexico’s Tourism Secretariat, today announced that it has retained Vantage Strategy to serve as its lead in strategic online marketing toward the U.S. consumer.
Vantage joins Ogilvy and Havas Media to round up the media team responsible for reshaping Mexico’s brand image and increasing both destination visitation and revenue.
The Mexico Tourism Board recently launched a campaign tag-line, “The place you thought you knew,” in an effort to promote Mexico’s cultural and historical sites, beaches and cuisine. The campaign is built around online promotional programs, maintaining a direct focus on social media including YouTube, Twitter and the launch of both a new Facebook approach and website.
The Mexico Tourism Board’s goal is to create a world-class online user experience through both social media and their website. Mexico is currently the 10th most-visited country in the world, with the target to reach number 5 by 2018.
