MGM Grand at Foxwoods is slated to open in May in Mashantucket, Connecticut. The latest addition to North America's largest gaming destination, MGM Grand at Foxwoods is a stand alone hotel connected to the existing Foxwoods Resort Casino by a pedestrian concourse. The $700-million MGM Grand will be a 30-story property with 825 guest rooms and suites, a 21,000-square-foot spa, 4,000-seat MGM Grand Theater, a casino and four restaurants. The centerpiece of Foxwoods' new entertainment options will be a 4,000-seat MGM Grand Theater with theater-style seating. Only 126 feet separates the front of the stage from the very last row. The theater is expected to attract some of the most coveted entertainment in the New England area, from off-Broadway shows to comedy acts to major headliners in the music industryMGM Grand's casino will feature a variety of 1,400 slot machines and 53 table games including blackjack, roulette, craps, Spanish 21 and 3-Card Poker. Two high stakes gaming areas will be separated from the main casino via framed panels of colored glass, wire mesh and wood lattice giving them a sense of privacy within the overall space. A bar in the center of the casino will feature a large fireplace complete with a large, central lit vortex. In addition, the casino bar will feature two, circular-shaped lounges that can be rented out for private events and functions.
