MLT Vacations to Manage Aeromexico Vacations

As part of our ongoing coverage of the 37th annual Tianguis Turistico, Travel Agent learned that Aeroméxico, Mexico’s global airline, has selected MLT Vacations to manage and operate all aspects of the company’s Aeroméxico Vacations brand for the United States and Canada markets.

Aeromexico Vacations will offer packages to the most important leisure destinations across Mexico, including popular beach destinations like Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos, as well as important cultural centers and historic colonial cities such as Oaxaca and Merida, among others.

“This partnership will give Aeromexico the opportunity to tap into new markets in the U.S. and encourage even more people to visit Mexico, to experience the culture and hospitality that our country offers,” said Sergio Allard, Aeromexico’s chief commercial officer, in a written statement. “MLT Vacations has in-depth knowledge of how to market and sell Mexico’s diverse attractions to American and Canadian travelers and, by working together, we can offer them easy access to all that Mexico has to offer, for a great value.”

MLT Vacations, one of the largest providers of vacation packages in North America, has been offering vacation packages to Mexico’s most popular destinations for more than 40 years. Aeromexico currently offers more than 40 destinations throughout Mexico; 14 in the U.S.; 10 in South America, Caribbean and Central America; three in Europe; two in Asia; and one in Canada.

“We are honored to be selected as the tour operator of choice for the Aeromexico Vacations brand,” said Ken Pomerantz, president of MLT Vacations, in a written statement. “Aeromexico boasts an impressive safety record and a tremendous route network. The airline is recognized as the leading Mexican airline, and we look forward to providing Aeromexico Vacations customers in the U.S. and Canada with the vacation experiences that they would expect from the Aeromexico brand.”

Aeromexico Vacations will launch during the second quarter of 2012, and will be available directly through the Aeromexico Vacations website and booking engine, or through a professional travel agent.
