Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has signed a management contract with Compagnie Tunisienne de Développement Touristique for a new upscale resort and conference property in the port city Sousse, Tunisia. Scheduled to open in July 2009, the beachside Mövenpick Resort & Thalasso Sousse will comprise 627 rooms, including 39 suites. Six restaurants, five bars, a nightclub, tennis courts, and the Thalasso Centre with a health and fitness club as well as an indoor seawater swimming pool will also be on the property. For business travelers, the resort will boast a conference hall with space for more than 800 people and three executive boardrooms
The resort’s location will be near a shopping mall, casino and 36-hole golf course and North Africa’s largest international airport will open in Enfidah, 30 minutes from Sousse, in November.
