Nevis to Host Pirate Parties

The island of Nevis will host its first-ever Peppered Pickled Pirate Party, a week-long festival that celebrates the rich history of the island's most famous pirates. The event will have activities that will allow visitors to fool around like modern-day buccaneers.

The island-wide Peppered Pickled Pirate Party will run twice this fall, October 25-31 and November 22-28. From Captain Kidd and Captain Sharp, who helped Nevis militia defend the island from the French, to Black Bart who threatened to wipe out the town of Charlestown, some of the most well-known pirates in history made their mark on Nevis.

To commemorate these 16th century swashbucklers, Nevis will host a series of family-oriented, interactive events throughout the week. Highlights of the festivities include a sailing regatta from St. Kitts to rum mixer and beach barbeque at Nisbet Plantation Inn and a pirate costume party complete with pig roast at The Hermitage Plantation Inn. Other activities surrounding this event will include hikes, snorkeling trips and a hot pepper contest, just to name a few.
