New Brand for Southern Puerto Rico

The Puerto Rico Tourism Company announced Porta Caribe, a new brand for the southern region of the island. The development of the Porta Caribe brand will lead to the creation of 900 new hotel rooms. Porta Caribe will consist of the following 15 municipalities: Adjuntas, Arroyo, Coamo, Guanica, Guayama, Guayanilla, Juana Diaz, Jayuya, Patillas, Penuelas, Ponce, Salinas, Santa Isabel, Villalba and Yauco. The southern region currently has an infrastructure of airport, ports and roads that will assist in the development of tourist activity in the region.
