New High-Speed Road Links Dublin, Belfast

Ireland announced July 29 the opening of the first high-speed roadway between Belfast and Dublin, reports the Belfast Telegraph, cutting the travel time between the two capitals to under two hours.

Taoiseach Brian Cowan and Northern Ireland Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness led ministers at a ceremony to open the route.

"It brings all of us closer," Cowen tells the Belfast Telegraph, highlighting that the development would bring both economic and social benefits.
