New U.S. Virgin Islands Website Unveiled

The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism unveiled its brand new Website,, yesterday evening.

A key goal for the new site is to educate potential visitors about USVI offerings. Visitors to the site can create trip planners and outline customized itineraries. Additionally, an interactive map listing points of interest for St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas allows visitors a deeper look at what the USVI has to offer.

Easy site navigation allows side-by-side comparison of each island's offerings and enables visitors to “hop” between island pages, reflecting how easy travel from one island to another actually is.

This launch is the first of three phases for the new site, executed by Atlanta-based JWT and Studiocom. In a later phase, will feature a landing page devoted solely to the destination’s packages and promotions. Finally, a booking engine will be added to the site. All phases are scheduled for completion by January 2010.

The new Website is an integrated segment of the DOT’s overall rebranding efforts for the destination, which kicked off in December with the introduction of the new Mocko Jumbie logo. Effective immediately, will redirect users to the new url,
