Orient-Express Names New Regional Director of Marketing for Caribbean, North America

Orient-Express Hotels Ltd., owners or part owners and managers of 46 luxury hotel, restaurant, tourist train and river cruise properties in 23 countries, recently announced that it has appointed Leslie MacKillop as regional director of marketing for North America and the Caribbean. 

In this role, MacKillop will be responsible for the development and execution of marketing programs for the North American and Caribbean portfolio, including the re-opening of El Encanto in Santa Barbara, California in March 2013. 

“Leslie is a seasoned professional with a proven track record in creative and results-oriented marketing programs,” said Ali Kasikci, regional managing director for North America and the Caribbean, in a written release. “Her valuable knowledge of the industry will help us not only drive forward our existing North American and Caribbean portfolio, but aid in a successful re-opening of El Encanto, one of California’s finest resorts.”

In addition to El Encanto, MacKillop will be responsible for choreographing cutting-edge marketing programs across five of Orient-Express’ hotels in the region, including The Inn at Perry Cabin, Maryland; La Samanna, St. Martin; Maroma Resort & Spa, Riviera Maya; and Casa de Sierra Nevada, San Miguel de Allende; and the popular ‘21’ Club restaurant and bar in New York City.

MacKillop served as the opening director of marketing at Montage Beverly Hills charged with positioning and establishing the young brand within a competitive marketplace. Prior to that she spent more than a decade as the director of marketing for The Peninsula Beverly Hills achieving some of the hotel’s highest ratings during difficult market conditions. MacKillop also owns her own marketing firm and has worked on creative marketing programs for a myriad of hospitality and non-hospitality organizations alike.
