Our Stay at the W Santiago

On our fifth day in Chile for the USTOA 2010: Out of the Country Meeting in Chile, Travel Agent landed back where it started in Santiago.

After a three-hour bus ride and a three-hour flight from Patagonia, we arrived at one of Chiles newest hotels, the W Santiago. I'm staying in room #810, a Wonderful Room, which is the hotel’s standard room. It is pretty impressive, unlike the two luxury lodges we stayed in the last few days.

It was definitely a more sleek, trendy property with silver and red adorning the halls and rooms of this 196-room luxury hotel. After not having a television for two nights and then just a smaller one for a third night, it was nice to have a roughly 40-inch flat screen, a bathroom almost half the size of our room and 24-hour room service. The hotel is the perfect example of the diversity of hotel product the country offers.

The last two days, we stayed at some pretty nice luxury lodges in Patagonia that aimed at relaxing and disconnecting from the outside world while the W offered a different kind, and equally rewarding, experience. But disconnecting is the last thing you do at this hotel as some great nightlife is just blocks away from the resort, a chic bar at the hotel welcomes guests until the late hours, wireless internet service and top-notch cuisines can be ordered at all hours of the night.

I would suggest a stay here after a few days in Patagonia when you are ready to end your disconnection from the world. Agents should contact Matias Berstein, sales executive, at [email protected]
