The Palms South Beach has changed its name to The Palms Hotel & Spa. The property will also be getting a new Aveda concept spa, The Palms Spa—a 5,000-square-foot facility and Aveda’s first luxury beach resort spa in the U.S.—in April 2009, and Essensia, a signature restaurant and lounge, in March. The property is currently undergoing renovations, which will update the hotel's public areas and guest rooms, add new meeting spaces as well as new lobby furnishings, an exterior renovation, and pool area renovations, which are scheduled for completion by April 2009. Upgrades to all guest rooms will be finalized in Spring 2010.
