Polynesian Cultural Center 45th Anniversary – Oahu

Polynesian Cultural Center is celebrating its 45th anniversary with festivals and competitions that represent Polynesian cultures.

On July 5, the best group and solo dancers from Tahiti compete in Te Mahana Hiro’a O Tahiti, which brings an upbeat competition and features tamarii (children) from all over Tahiti.

This summer, the Hawaiian Village at Polynesian Cultural Center will open the Hlau Waa, or canoe house of learning. The $2.65 million facility will house the Iosepa voyaging canoe and provide visitors the opportunity to learn about Polynesian voyaging techniques.
