Puerto Vallarta Tourism Appoints New Director

The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board announced the appointment of Javier Esquivel Lizarraga as its new director following the departure of Miguel González González earlier this year.

Esquivel joins the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board following an extensive 30 years of experience in the tourism industry. He started his career in 1978 by becoming a hotel leader in his home town of Mazatlan and by 1982 he was working with Gemeni Express, a travel agency wholesaler in Hollywood, CA. In 1985 he joined Guadalajara’s Fiesta Americana where he held various positions before leaving for Hotel Laffayette’s rooms division.

Just prior to joining the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, Esquivel was general manager and corporate sales director at Optima Hotels of Mexico, current operator of the Courtyard and Fairfield Inn by Marriott in Monterrey, Nuevo León.
