Radisson Blu Opens in Hamburg

The Rezidor Hotel Group is reopening the Radisson Blu Hamburg following a $71 million overhaul. Renovations to the 556-room property include a new conference area and ballroom; a new lobby with two lounges and designer modern furnishings; two new event locations, two restaurants and bars; and a state-of-the-art fitness center.

Swedish architect Christian Lundwall has redesigned the hotel's 556 guestrooms and suites in three distinct styles: Natural rooms feature a light color palette and beechwood furniture; Urban has a modern aesthetic, oak furniture and Amtico flooring; and Mansion combines Turkish rugs, rosewood furniture and silver wardrobes with black-tiled flooring. All accommodations offer complimentary high-speed wireless internet, and many guestrooms and suites feature sweeping views over Hamburg.

Restaurants at the Radisson Blu Hamburg include Filini Restaurant, which offers modern Italian cuisine and an extensive wine list, and Asian fusion restaurant Trader Vic's, which has been completely renovated, and now features a show kitchen with Chinese wood oven and a "Mai Tai Bar."

The newly renovated Radisson Blu Hamburg is the latest addition to Radisson Blu's German portfolio. Other hotels include a Hamburg Airport Hotel; a recently opened resort in Bad Reichenhall; a property in Berlin's Mitte District; as well as properties in Dresden, Dusseldorf, Cologne and Frankfurt.
