The Reef By CuisinArt Has Its Eyes on Millennials

The Reef by CuisinArt will debut in November.

Stephane Zaharia, vice president and general manager of CuisinArt Resort and Spa in Anguilla, is hoping his hotel’s new sister property, The Reef by CuisinArt, is able to scoop up some of the Millennial clients he expects the transformed Viceroy Anguilla to lose.

Travel Agent sat down with Zaharia Wednesday to discuss the anticipated November 10 opening of the 80-suite The Reef by CuisinArt and learned that the general manager is specifically targeting the Millennial market since he believes Millennial clients who were huge fans of the Viceroy Anguilla may feel displaced when that hotel becomes a Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts property in October.

“The Viceroy Anguilla was such a big hotel for mostly Millennials,” he told Travel Agent. “Now, the Four Seasons will also be great for Millennials, but will also have a wider focus. It will attract not just Millennials, it will attract older guests as well, families, older families.”

And if those Millennials who once made up most of Viceroy Anguilla’s occupancy don’t want to share the newly transformed Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla with other generations in October, Zaharia has just the place for them.

“We are really looking to attract those Millennials that may have previously been going to Viceroy Anguilla,” says Zaharia, “but that also doesn’t mean we are just focusing on Millennials. They are just one of our primary markets.”

So how does The Reef plan to attract Millennials?

Here are a few selling points at The Reef that are perfect for Millennials:

Drone Sessions

Millennials looking for that perfect Instagram picture will be excited to learn that The Reef by CuisinArt is in the process of ordering 10 drones to the property and has plans to eventually conduct lessons on how to effectively use them, Zaharia says

Spin Classes in the Pool

With the addition of new aqua cycling bikes, The Reef by CuisinArt plans to attract fitness-oriented Millennials by offering spin classes in the hotel’s pool overlooking views of nearby St. Maarten/St. Martin. Travel Agent was told that the schedule for the aqua cycling classes is still being finalized.

Live Music and a DJ?

Although not finalized yet, the resort is brainstorming the possibility of adding live music and a disc jockey to its entertainment options.
