Global luxury brand Regent Hotels Resorts has appointed Stefan Athmann general manager of The Regent Berlin.
Athmann brings nearly 20 years of hospitality experience to his new position at The Regent Berlin, including two at the luxury hotel itself, serving as the hotel’s director of sales and marketing from 2005-2007.
Most recently general manager of Radisson Blu Belfast, Athmann’s luxury hospitality experience also includes a position at the Radisson Blu Berlin, and appointments with luxury properties from Kempinski Group and InterContinental Hotels across Europe and Central Asia.
A luxury property in the city’s Mitte District, The Regent Berlin has 195 guestrooms and suites, many overlooking Gendarmenmarkt Square, as well as the city’s only two-star Michelin restaurant, Fischer’s Fritz.
Athmann’s position was most recently held by Wolfgang Nitschke, who heads east to oversee the December 2009 opening of the luxury Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Moscow.
