Report: Suspect Arrested in Murder of Two Americans in Mexico Admits Involvement

RTTNews reported late Wednesday night that a suspect arrested in connection with the murder of three people linked to the US consulate in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez earlier in the month has confessed his role in the killings.

According to Mexican officials, the detained suspect confessed that he was a lookout in the operation that killed the three people linked to the U.S. consulate, including two Americans. He also admitted that the target of the operation was a guard at the El Paso County Jail across the border, and not workers at the consulate.

The Mexican authorities identified the suspect as Ricardo Valles de la Rosa, a member of the notorious Barrio Azteca gang. Valles was arrested last Friday. Though Mexican authorities said his arrest was carried out with the help of the FBI, U.S. officials are yet to comment on the issue.
