Rezidor to Open Six European Properties by 2009

The Rezidor Hotel Group has signed contracts to manage six new properties in Europe in the next two years: a Radisson resort in Yalta, Ukraine; a Radisson hotel in Paris; two Radisson hotels in Portimao, Portugal; a Radisson hotel in Brno, Czech Republic; and a Park Inn in St. Helens, England. The two hotels in Portugal and one in Ukraine will be new builds, while the Paris, Czech Republic and U.K. properties will consist of conversions and renovations.

“These six new contracts showcase how important our European markets are for the growth and development of our brands,” said Kurt Ritter, president and CEO Rezidor. “I’m particularly excited about the new hotels in Portugal, which are an important step for our growth in southern Europe.”

The Radisson Hotel Portimao, in Portugal’s Algarve region (pictured), will offer 192 guest rooms, two restaurants, a bar and indoor and outdoor swimming pools, as well as a spa. The hotel will be part of the Algarve Motor Park business development center, which will include a racetrack where national and international sporting events will be held.

Radisson’s second property in Portugal will be a Radisson Residence, also in Portimao, offering 160 apartments, leisure and reception areas and a restaurant.
