According to the National Weather Service’s last update, Hurricane Rick continues to weaken, but remains a major threat to southern Baja California, Mexico. A hurricane watch remains in effect from Santa Fe southward on the west coast and from San Evaristo southward on the east coast including Cabo San Lucas.

The last update had the center of the hurricane 370 miles south-southwest of Socorro Island and was toward the northwest at a speed of 9 mph. A turn for the north with a decrease in forward speed is expected in the next 24 hours. Rick is then forecast to accelerate toward the north-northwest and northeast by late Tuesday and early Wednesday.
