The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach Announces Green Seal Certification

The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach, a AAA Four-Diamond, five-star property that recently underwent a $100 million renovation, is the first property in the company’s portfolio to be Green Seal Certified. Green Seal recognizes sustainability leadership performance levels and practices for products and services. The property’s green efforts include recycling paper products, cardboard, printer cartridges, glass, plastic and aluminum cans; installation of recycling bins throughout the hotel in areas such as offices, guest rooms, kitchens and bell desks; the use of 30 percent recycled paper; and donation of outdated furniture and equipment to local non-profit organizations and charities.

The resort has also made efforts to reduce water and energy usage by providing guests with energy efficient lighting and air conditioning, as well as low-flow toilets, showerheads and faucets. Furthermore, the cleaning staff solely uses bio-degradable cleaning products, which are free of petrochemicals and made from renewable resources.

This is the first Ritz-Carlton to receive Bronze Level status and they will begin working on Silver Level status this year. Visit www.ritzcarlton.com/resorts/palm_beach
