Riviera Nayarit Celebrates Expansion in 10 Year Anniversary

Over the past ten years, Riviera NayaritMexico has grown from a suburb of Puerto Vallarta into a destination of its own, nearly doubling its beaches from 100 miles to 192 miles, including the longest black sand beach in Central and South America.

The destination has also received high praise over the years. In 2009, Riviera Nayarit was cited as a top destination by CheapFlights.com, Hideaways Magazine, and BudgetTravel.com. In addition, Forbes selected Riviera Nayarit as one of the top destinations of the year.

After having only one AAA Five Diamond hotel in 2007, Riviera Nayarit now has has four AAA Five Diamond hotels, 11 AAA Four Diamond hotels, one AAA Five Diamond restaurant, and six AAA Four Diamond restaurants. In the coming years, multiple luxury hotels are set to open, including:

  • One&Only Mandarina – The cliffside hotel will debut with 145 luxury villas and private residential estates.
  • Fairmont Costa Canuva – Opening in 2018, this resort will be the focus of a beachfront village offering 5 hotels, 2,500 private residences and a golf course designed by Greg Norman and Lorena Ochoa.
  • Rosewood Mandarina – Set to open in 2019, the Rosewood Mandarina will draw inspiration from local cultures and offer 130 guestrooms, suites and villas.
