As of 2011, the Royal Mulu Resort in Malaysia will be reflagged as the Mulu Marriott Resort & Spa, following a complete refurbishment of all guest rooms and public space.
The resort was built on wooden stilts, approximately 15 feet above the ground and linked by a series of walkways. Each room offers balconies; in-room mini-bar, safe, flat-screen TV and hi-speed Internet access.
The new lobby will include a lobby lounge with a library and an open-space business center. As for dining options, the resort will include an all-day, three-meal restaurant with al fresco dining options as well as a private dining room and adjacent bakery/deli.
A new spa will be included with six treatment rooms. Other recreational amenities include an outdoor swimming pool; a fitness center; an Activity Center; and a Marriott Kids Club.
