Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina in the British Virgin Islands recently announced that the resort's Executive Chef Davide Pugliese will be among the cast of culinary masters featured at the 16th Annual Celebrity Chefs' Brunch in Wilmington, Delaware on April 21. This will be the fifth consecutive year that Davide has participated in this signature fundraising event benefiting Meals on Wheels Delaware.
"It's an honor to have Chef Davide use his phenomenal talents to represent Scrub Island Resort for such an important cause," said Martin Smith, managing director of Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, in a written statement. "His passion for cooking and entertaining translate very well to this outstanding charity event."
Held in the newly renovated Hercules Plaza in downtown Wilmington, the Celebrity Chefs' Brunch is one of three fundraising events Meals on Wheels Delaware hosts as part of "Meals from the Masters" weekend, showcasing the culinary talents of chefs from all over the world.
Chef Davide will be featured alongside other renowned chefs, including Food Network Canada's Michael Blackie, executive chef of the National Arts Centre in Ottawa; Dana Cree, pastry chef of Blackbird in Chicago; Drew Hardin, executive chef of LOLA in Denver and Don Drake, executive chef of Magnolias in Charleston, South Carolina.
In addition to decadent food, wine and specialty cocktails, guests at the event will enjoy a silent auction featuring high-end culinary items, one-of-a-kind experiences, luxury gifts and trip for two to Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina.
Proceeds from the Meals from the Masters weekend will benefit home-bound seniors throughout Delaware. Since it began in 1996, the Meals on Wheels fundraising events have raised nearly $6 million to help ensure no senior is placed on a waiting list for a nutritious meal.
