Beginning April 1, Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, one of the British Virgin Islands’ newest luxury private-island resort – will be offering three- and five-day Learn to Sail Packages, giving clients an adventurous new experiential element for their ultimate British Virgin Islands getaway.
The packages are made possible through a partnership with Fort Myers, Florida-based Colgate Offshore Sailing School, a globally-recognized leader in comprehensive sailing instruction.
The five-day Learn to Sail course taught in half-day sessions starts at $2,525 per person including six nights’ accommodations. Participants arrive Sunday and depart the following Saturday. Morning and afternoon on-water classes alternate throughout the week, which allows guests to fully enjoy other amenities at the private-island resort, including the award-winning Ixora Spa, renowned restaurants and bars, and unlimited use of sea kayaks and stand up paddleboards.
For a more fast-paced curriculum, the three-day Learn to Sail course starts at $2,115 per person including four nights’ accommodations. Participants arrive Friday and depart Monday. For either course, guests can add room nights before or after their sailing experience to further enjoy the BVI.
The resort also offers additional courses for those who want to sharpen their sailing skills including Performance Sailing, Fast Track to Cruising and Bareboat Cruising courses with rates starting at $2,525 per person.
All sailing packages include accommodations in one of Scrub Island Resort’s ocean view guest rooms overlooking the marina; a comprehensive textbook for the respective course; unlimited launch service to and from Scrub Island Resort and taxi from airport; BVI occupancy tax and Scrub Island resort fee (currently 17 percent); a commemorative 50th Anniversary Offshore Sailing School cap and more.
