The 44th California International Antiquarian Book Fair will be held this February 11-13 in San Francisco's Concourse Exhibition Center on Eighth Street. Attendees of the annual event will be able to select from an inventory of more than 200 members of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers. Items on hand for purchase will include rare books, prints, posters and maps, alongside illustrations, autographs, photographs and more.
Thousands of book aficianados, buyers and sellers attend the event, which also features manuscripts, incunabula, literature, fine bindings and books on technology, science and law, as well as children's and illustrated books, ephemera and antiquarian books of all kinds. During the fair, visitors will be able to bring their books in for appraisal at Discovery Day or attend a lecture or seminar.
This year, the theme is music. The fair will host a special exhibit of rare musical books and manuscripts, dating back as far as the 1300s from the Jean Gray Hargrove Music Library of the University of California at Berkeley. In addition, all exhibiting booksellers will be welcomed to feature their collections as they pertain to music.
