Singita To Support Stand Against Global Warming on March 28

On Saturday, March 28, Singita Game Reserves, an operator of luxury game reserves in South Africa, is taking a stand against global warming in a show of support for the World Wildlife Fund’s Earth Hour 2009 global initiative.

To show their support, the company’s nine lodges in Southern and East Africa will turn off their power at 8:30 p.m. (SA time), along with more than 500 cities in 75 countries.

The blackout will last for 60 minutes. During that time, guests at the various Singita lodges will sit down to a Bush Banquet in one of the outdoor settings. Menus and dinner set-tings will reflect a green theme to reflect a ‘green’ theme, while guests seated for this special occasion, will be able to view the lights going down in the far distance.
