On Site: Puerto Rico Continues to Expand Luxury Options

Travel Agent met up with Puerto Rico's tourism board as part of the ASTA's 2011 Travel Retailing & Destination Expo. As part of Puerto Rico's expanding luxury hotel program, the island is expanding the brand new 600-room Condado Vanderbilt, slated to debut in November.

In addition, Mandarin Oriental and Regent will debut two new properties on the Island's south side in 2013.

In terms of air travel JetBlue will launch new service to Puerto Rico from Tampa and Jacksonville, Florida, as well as Hartford, Connecticut. Boston has upped its frequency of weekly flights to Puerto Rico, as well.
