Southwest Germany Offers Free Online Training for Travel Professionals

The State Tourism Board of Baden-Wuerttemberg in southwest Germany has developed a free online training for travel professionals called “Cuckoo Training.”

The website, so called because the region is known as the home of the cuckoo clock (as well as the Black Forest and Porsche cars), provides an interactive map and a list of tour operators in the United States and Canada who visit Baden-Wuerttemberg.

The educational program provides 10 chapters focusing on the region’s culture, castles, city breaks, shopping, etc.  After the successful completion of the program, participants will receive a Southwest Germany Specialist Certificate, which remains valid for two years. While agents are able to take the chapter tests at their own convenience, they must complete all sections by September 2008.

Agents who finish in the top three percent of all test takers will be eligible to receive a complimentary trip to Southwest Germany in the fall of 2008. Visit www.cuckoo-training.com.
