As part of the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s (CTO) Month of Tourism, the St. Eustatius Tourism Development Foundation (STDF) will conduct a community-tourism awareness campaign, with the theme “I am Tourism.”

During the campaign, persons in the community will be given the opportunity to express their beliefs and commitment to the Statia tourism product.

“I am Tourism,” is the first topic of STDF’s awareness campaign, which will continue until mid-2016. Every month a different topic will be highlighted in the areas of sports tourism, agro-tourism, voluntourism, heritage tourism and community tourism.

The objective of the program is to create tourism awareness within the community to get citizens more tourism-minded and involved through stimulated activities and information.

“Our tourism product is exactly what we have to offer, and for that reason throughout the next several months STDF will promote the different aspects of tourism existing on the island,” said Charles Lindo, tourism director, in a written release. “STDF believes that if not all, at least some folks will learn how to like and later love this tourism flavor.”
