Starwood Expands in India

Starwood is showing increased confidence in India's blossoming travel market, as the company launches a major expansion of its mid-market brands, including Four Points by Sheraton Hotels and Aloft Hotels.

Starwood's plan was to expand its portfolio of 26 hotels in India by 60 percent by 2013, and is well on its way with the opening of the first Four Points by Sheraton in Navi, Mumbai, Vashi in partnership with the Rahejas Group.

Fifteen new hotels in India (including Sheratons, Westins, Four Points by Sheratons and Alofts) are slated to open by 2013.
