Starwood Opens the Sheraton Bucharest Hotel

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. has entered Romania with the opening of the Sheraton Bucharest Hotel in Bucharest. In partnership with S.C. Grand Plaza Hotel S.A., the opening builds upon the Sheraton first mover advantage in the region and means that Sheraton has more than 60 hotels in EuropeStarwood said.

“As a market debut for Starwood and Sheraton, Romania symbolizes an important expansion opportunity while also putting Sheraton one step closer to its goal of opening more than 150 new hotels over the next five years,” said Dave Marr, global brand leader, Sheraton Hotels & Resorts.

The new hotel has 270 guestrooms, including 27 Executive Suites and one Presidential Suite. The Sheraton Club is on the 18th floor and has complimentary breakfast, refreshments and free Wi-Fi. The location gives the hotel easy access to shopping, dining and the business districts. Buisness can also be conducted at the hotel with 10 conference rooms, two ballrooms and one boardroom.
