Survey Says Hawaii is Top Dream Honeymoon Spot

MacNair Travel & Cruises/American Express on Tuesday announced that a recent survey it conducted in July of 100 brides-to-be placed Hawaii at the top of the "dream honeymoon" list. The 50th state garnered 39.8 percent of the votes, followed by Tahiti/Bora Bora, with 30.1 percent, and Italy, with 23.7 percent. Almost all of the women surveyed—98.9 percent—are planning their honeymoons in the next 12 months. Other highlights include: 62.4 percent of those responding say they are using the services of a travel agent; top three months are August, October and June, respectively; and four-fifths of respondents are planning a land-based honeymoon, with the other fifth opting for a cruise.
