Attendees will have the opportunity to personally meet with Burns. Tauck guests will be further immersed in the New York City of the Roosevelts during a presentation by Geoffrey C. Ward, who co-wrote the companion book to the Roosevelts film with Burns.

While in New York, Tauck guests will also take an in-depth tour of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt’s home on East 65th Street.

The Tauck New York City Event (from October 1 – 5, 2015) will explore other elements of the city’s history and culture as well, during themed daily sightseeing “tracks.” A maximum of 200 attendees will divide into smaller groups of approximately 30 to experience the different tracks on a rotating basis, providing each guest with the same overall itinerary.

The Roosevelts (along with the Carnegies, Astors, Fricks and more) will be highlighted in a “New York’s First Families: The Gilded Age” track exploring uptown Manhattan. Downtown, a “Land of Opportunity” track will examine the experiences of newly-arrived immigrants during a Tauck-exclusive tour of the city’s Tenement Museum, and chronicle the exploits of Wall Street titans. A final track, “New York Innovation,” focuses on midtown Manhattan locations and the people who shaped the city’s past and influence it today. A private “after-hours” farewell reception and dinner is planned in the Great Hall on Ellis Island in New York Harbor. Included in the price for the Tauck New York City Event (from $6,990 per person, double occupancy, plus airfare) are four nights’ accommodations at New York’s Plaza Hotel, all daily sightseeing and evening activities, all gratuities, most meals, airport transfers and more.
