Thailand Celebrates the King with the International Ramayana Festival

Thailand is getting festive next month with the International Ramayana Festival, which will be held December 5-9, in celebration of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's 84th Birthday.

The Thailand Government has put together a nationwide celebration in honor of the king, as well as a grand performance by the Ministry of Culture. Seven other countries are expected to partake in the festivities, including Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines and Singapore.

The event will take place at the National Theater and all performances are free of charge.
