‘Taste of Australia’ From Qantas Vacations
For the foodies and oenophiles among your clientele, consider planning a trip Down Under, where Tourism Australia is engaging in a global campaign to promote Australia’s food and wine experiences. The strategy was developed in recognition that cuisine is now a relevant factor in deciding where to go on a vacation. In that vein, Qantas Vacations has created a “Taste of Australia.” Highlights include a private wine journey through Victoria’s Yarra Valley, a visit to the Barossa Valley of South Australia to Penfolds Magill Estate Winery where visitors can create their own wine blend, and a seaplane flight over Sydney with champagne tasting and three-course dinner.
Pleasant Holidays Issues New South Pacific Brochure
Pleasant Holidays has released the 2014/2015 sales brochure for its South Pacific portfolio. Showcasing 74 hotels and resorts in Tahiti, Fiji and the Cook Islands, the brochure sports a new look with larger, visually inviting images. Destinations featured in the brochure include Bora Bora, Moorea, Tahiti, Taha’a, Raiatea, Huahine, Tuamotu Atolls and the Marquesas Islands in Tahiti, Vitu Levu and the Mamanuca, Northern and Outer Islands of Fiji, and Rarotanga and Aitutaki in Cook Islands. It also showcases six cruise options, including Paul Gauguin Cruises in the islands of Tahiti and Tui Tai Expeditions in the Fijian islands. Additional items include romance vacations, maps, travel information, and details about Pleasant Holidays’ new travel protection plan that covers travelers’ vacation investment pre- and post-departure and travel agent commission protection.
Carlson Rezidor Boosts India Portfolio
Seven new hotels, including three in India, have been signed by Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group under the brands Radisson Blu, Radisson, and Country Inns & Suites by Carlson hotels. The Radisson Blu Mumbai Essel World will be a 200-key hotel due to open in the fourth quarter of 2014. Country Inns & Suites by Carlson Kota, Rajasthan, with 84 rooms, and 87-room Country Inns & Suites by Carlson Raipur, Chhattisgarh, will open in the second and third quarters of 2016 respectively.
JW Marriott Enters Bangalore
JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts announced the launch of its first hotel in Bengaluru (Bangalore). The luxury five-star property has 297 rooms and suites, including an ultra-luxurious Presidential Suite, world-class restaurants, and a wellness center that includes fitness equipment and a spa.
