Tour Operator Absorbs Upcoming Roman Hotel Tax

On the heels of the recent announcement of Rome's hotel tax, Insight Vacations has announced that it will absorb the cost of any additional hotel taxes the Rome City Council plans to impose on travelers in 2011. Beginning January 1, 2011, travelers staying at three-, four- and five-star hotels located in Rome incur an extra nightly charge. (Children under two and youth hostels are exempt from this tax).

Marc Kazlauskas, president of Insight Vacations, said, “If we tell clients the price of a tour and they book that departure, we do our best to never change the rate, regardless of a new government fee or tax. All clients that are currently booked or plan to book a tour that includes a Rome hotel stay in 2011 will not be responsible for the new tax.”
