Tour Operator Reports Boost in Passengers to South America in 2009

Collette Vacations announced today that bookings of its South America tours are showing significant increases of North American travelers through its Discover South America tour, with a more-than-50-percent spike this year. Collette offers six tours visiting South America and cultural and leisure attractions such as Machu Picchu, Iguazu Falls, Colonial cities, Lake Crossing of the Andes, penguins and glaciers in Patagonia, beaches of Rio de Janeiro, the Galapagos Islands, wineries in Mendoza, Lake Titicaca and the Amazon.

Its most popular tour this year, Discover South America is a 15-day journey highlighting the countries of Chile, Argentina and Brazil. Clients will spend three nights at the Intercontinental Resort in Rio de Janeiro, the city that will host the 2016 Olympic Games, and will ascend Corcovado Mountain by train to see the statue of Christ the Redeemer, a new “Seven Wonders of the World”. This tour can also be extended to include a five-day Peru and Machu Picchu discovery.
