Tourism Whistler Canada Offers Lineup of Upcoming Events for August and September 2013

Canadian RockiesTourism Whistler is offering a lineup of upcoming events for August and September including the Whistler Presents Outdoor Concert Series with performances by Jeremy Thom, Animal Nation, Ali Milner and Current Swell on Sept. 1, 2013 at 1 p.m.

Another event, The Crankworx Whistler Freeride Mountain Bike Festival, is scheduled through Aug. 18, 2013. The festival gives bike riders a chance to meet to compete in downhill, enduro, slopestyle, trials and more. Free music concerts, photo and video contests, demos and nightlife are also offered at this summer festival.

Whistler will also be offering art workshops on basket weaving from Aug. 9-11 at 9 a.m. at Alta Lake Station House. Another art workshop on speed painting with a model will be held from Aug. 23-25, also at 9 a.m. at the lake house.

Also on Aug. 25, Whistler will welcome Subaru Ironman Canada athletes to compete in a triathlon through Whistler's lakes and mountain roads. Other events happening in September 2013 include RBC GranFondo Whistler for road cycling enthusiasts on Sept. 7, and the Whistler Village Beer Festival on Sept. 14.
