NEW YORK CITY, New York - Travel Agent's senior editor, Joe Pike, recently won the Inner Circle King Award for the Best Feature Article in a Trade Publication during the Caribbean Tourism Organization's (CTO) annual Caribbean Week. This marks the fourth straight year Pike has won an award during Caribbean Week.

Pike, of Questex Hospitality + Travel, won the Inner Circle King Award for the Best Feature Article in a Trade Publication for the third straight year for his July, 2011 Travel Agent cover story, "The Uncharted Caribbean: A Guide to the Caribbean's Best-Kept Secrets."

In 2011, Pike was awarded for his article in Travel Agent magazine's April 26, 2010 issue entitled "Belize: The Caribbean and Latin America in One." The year before that, Pike won the same award for a 2009 Travel Agent cover story on Jamaica, titled "The New Jamaica."

The award is given annually to a journalist who has made a major contribution in providing the trade and/or consumer with information on the developments in the Caribbean through the media.

Pike is also a past winner of the Marcia Vickery-Wallace Memorial Award for Excellence in Travel Journalism awarded by the Jamaica Tourist Board, in association with the Caribbean Tourism Organization, in 2009.

"It's truly a humbling experience to be honored by a great organization like the CTO," says Pike. "I couldn't have done it without all the great editors at Travel Agent magazine who work hard every day to make my stories crisp and visually appealing."

Pike joined Questex Hospitality + Travel’s Travel Agent magazine six years ago and has served as the magazine’s Caribbean, Bahamas & Bermuda, Mexico, and Central & South America editor for the last four years.

Previously, Pike was a newspaper reporter for The Asbury Park Press based in the Jersey Shore, covering local news. He received his Master's Degree in Newspaper, Magazine and Online Journalism from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Pike also launched his own travel blog, thejoepikeblog.com, in 2009.
