Two Oahu Hotels Share Assistant General Manager

Here's a name to remember on Oahu: Rudy Fao has been named assistant general manager for two Outrigger-managed properties: the OHANA Honolulu Airport Hotel and Best Western The Plaza Hotel. Fao is responsible for assisting in the day-to day-operations and reports directly to Miranda.

This is a promotion for Fao, who transfers from his most recent position as catering manager at the Outrigger-managed Keauhou Beach Resort on Hawaii’s Big Island. Fao began his career with Outrigger four years ago as an assistant housekeeper at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach. He then moved to the Big Island to join the Keauhou Beach Resort as front office manager and subsequently catering and conference manager.

Prior to joining Outrigger, Fao worked for the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort and Spa as a front office supervisor. He has also worked for the Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki Hotel where he was responsible for rooms control and assisting with the front desk department.

Fao holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Travel Industry Management from Hawaii Pacific University and is proficient in Portuguese and Spanish.
